Greeves v Cotton v Dot Trial

This event was run in conjunction with the Golden Valley Classic MCC British Bike Trial' at Tinkley Lane, Nailsworth on June 6th. From an impressive entry of 77 British bikes, there were 17 Cottons, 9 Greeves and 1 Dot.

On the day, the Cotton team did not perform to their capabilities and with a number of retirments we were well beaten by an on form Greeves team.

Greeves riders filled the top 2 places in both classes and this underwrote their win with 134 points to Cotton's 96. Top expert riders for Cotton were Pat Barrett and Ken O'Brien, and best Cotton Clubman riders were Bob Smith and Tim James. Daniel Welsby and Michael Onions, both competed in their first ever trial, and enjoyrd the experience, both scoring points.

The sole Dot rider was veteran Wal Fox, who had an excellant ride to finish a close 3rd on the Clubmans route. He enjoyed the event and will hopefully encourage more Dot riders next year.
